Synchro Poznan Cup 2010

This weekend the Synchro Poznan Cup 2010 was held in Poznań (POL) and it was a pleasure for me to join the staff of Judges that met there. It is always an interesting Event for Juniors and Seniors, different levels and several countries take part (as for this year Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Russia and Poland as the host). This is the first event I join this year and I hope I will be able to report many other synchro events this year :)

Este fin de semana se celebro la Copa Synchro Poznan 2010 en Poznań (POL) y fue un placer para mi unirme a los otros Jueces que se dieron cita a este Evento. Este evento siempre ha sido interesante, un Evento para atletas Junior y Mayores, diferentes niveles y varios paises que siempre asisten a la cita (este ano estuvieron Bielorusia, Bulgaria, Hungria, Rusia, la Republica Checa y Polonia como el pais anfitrion). Este es el primer evento que califico este ano y espero poder calificar muchos otros Eventos mas y compartirlo por esta via :)

Si no estas prestando atencion a lo que esta ocurriendo en la piscina cuando estas calificando, puedes ser victima de una camara escondida y ser agarrado mirando para otro lado :) que bueno que pase esta prueba (una vez mas) y yo estaba mirando a donde debia mirar jejeje

Judges FINA School - Prague 2010

Finished only a couple of days ago - with big success - the FINA School for Synchronized Swimming Judges 2010 took place in Prague and 50 Judges (including myself) met there. Actually it was the first School out of the ones to be held this year. Following will be the School in Miami and later there will be Schools in every continent until May 2010. Four days of intensive learning and knowledge share, very interesting and specially now, when we will begin judging using a more detailed method, that will be very useful for all the coaches (as a direct feedback) but requires a lot of work from our side (Judges) to assure we are providing the right message with the right reasons. At the end of the School, we all took the exam and we are all waiting for the results to be published, thus we could be elegible for FINA events. I wish good luck to all the Judges going to the School :)

Recien terminada hace un par de dias - con gran exito - la Escuela FINA para Jueces de Nado Sincronizado 2010 se llevo a cabo en Praga y 50 Jueces (incluyendo a mi mismo) nos encontramos alla. Esta es la primera Escuela de todas las ediciones que habra este ano; la siguiente Escuela sera esta semana en Miami y luego habra una Escuela en cada continente hasta Mayo 2010. Cuatro dias de aprendizaje intensivo y de compartir conocimientos, un evento muy interesante, espeicalmente ahora cuando estamos preparandonos para calificar utilizado un metodo mucho mas detallado, que sera muy util para los Entrenadores (por la retroalimentacion compleja) pero igual requerira de nuestra parte (los jueces) mucho trabajo para asegurar que estamos entregando el mensaje correcto basado en las razones correctas. Al final de la escuela, todos tomamos el examen y ahora estamos esperando por los resultados a ser publicados, para asi poder ser elegibles para eventos FINA. Mucha suerte para todos los Jueces :)

4th FINA World Trophy - Montreal 2009

Within 2 weeks, the 4th Synchronized Swimming FINA World Trophy will be held in Montreal, bringing in new Events and making the sport even more interesting and more atractive for the audience. This year, 5 Events will be held:

• Synchro Highlight routine (platform lift, floating pattern, cadence action, throw),
• Thematic duet (reflecting the culture of the host country),
• Solo,
• Thematic team (reflecting the culture of the Team's own country),
• Combination,

In each event the judges will only score the artistic impression. Participating countries are: Brazil, Canada, China, Egypt, Italy, Japan, Russia, Spain, United Kingdom and USA. Stay tunned and enjoy!

Dentro de 2 semanas, el 4to Trofeo Mundial FINA de Nado Sincronizado se realizara en Montreal, poniendo en escen anuevos eventos, haciendo este deporte aun mas interesante y atractivo para la audiencia. Este ano, 4 eventos estaran en competencia:

• Rutina de puntos culminantes (plataforma, flota, accion en cadena y lanzamiento),
• Dueto tematico (que refleje la cultura del pais anfitrion),
• Solo,
• Equipo tematico (que refleje la cultura del propio pais del Equipo),
• Combinacion,

En cada evento, los Jueces solo calificaran la Impresion Artistica. Los paises participantes son: Brazil, Canada, China, Egipto, Italia, Japon, Rusia, Espana, Reino Unido y Estados Unidos.

Roma 2009 (about to begin)

Within a few days, the 13th FINA World Swimming Championship will begin and its host city will be Rome, exactly as it happned 15 years ago. With no much time left, at this stage everybody is finishing the last details on the preparation but also probably already packing and getting on their way (because "all the ways lead to Rome"). 15 years ago, special swimming pools were builded for Synchronized Swimming and Water Polo by Myrtha Pools; this time these 2 sports will also share the same venue and you can read more about it here.Dentro de unos dias, el 13vo Campeonato Mundial FINA de Natacion comenzara y la ciudad sede es Roma, igual como sucedio hace 15 anos. Faltando tan poco tiempo, en este momento todo el mundo estara alistando los ultimos detalles en su preparacio ademas de estar (tal vez) ya comenzando a empacar y a tomar su camino (porque "todos los caminos llevan a Roma"). Hace 15 anos, una piscina especial fue creada por Myrtha Pools para las competencias de Nado Sincronizado y Polo Acuatico; este ano estos dos deportes tambien compartiran la misma piscina y pueden leer mas acerca de esto aqui.
